General Information
The Galili family have been growing olives for the last 15 years in Beit Lehem HaGlilit. 3 years ago, with the return of the youngest son (Eran Galili) to the farm, came the realization that in order to produce the best quality extra virgin olive oil, the family must have full control of the entire production process, from the seedling to the bottle. And so they bought the small olive oil press, suiting the needs of the family's olive grove. The olive press received its residence in the old packing house that used to pack flowers and and lemons grown on the farm. In manual harvest we produce our olive oil without involving water in the separation process (the 2 phase system) which brings incredible results of wonderful taste and aroma and of course preserving specially high nutritional values. Our ecological olive press does not create environmental polution of barren water. Furthermore the olive waste is used as great compost for furtilising our olive grove. Our visitors center is open every Friday and Saturday where our various olives and oil brands can be tasted (free of charge): Suri, Barnea, Pishulin (France), Laccino and Frontoyo (Italy), Pikual (Spain). Organic olive oil from the near by groves is also available for tasting and purchase. Welcome to a guided tour of our olive pressing process. The family members will always be happy to guide and answer any question. Also available in the visitors center: excellent and unique farm goat cheese, French and Italian styles. In the upcoming 2012 harvest, we are offering an experience of connecting to the olive tree, including a guided tour in the organic olive grove, picking olives and feeding them to the olive press machine to view the oil extraction and taste the oil fresh out of the press, and of course pitta dipping in various oil flavours and satureja. The activity is open to groups of minimum 15 people, and suitable for all ages. It is available during the olive harvest season: Oct. 20th to Dec. 15th. It is a charged acivity, and prior reservation is required opening hours: Friday - 9:30-15:00 Saturday - 9:30-17:00 Visits on weekdays are welcome with coordination by phone: 0544903157
