General Information

Tmol Shilshom, a hidden oasis in Jerusalem's city center, is a vintage-style bookstore cafe-restaurant. It is a kosher dairy culinary and cultural institution favored for its warm ambiance, delicious food, plethora of books and very friendly service. The cafe's well-known dishes include their Lonely Planet-awarded shakshuka, a favorite among tourists, the salmon fillet in fig sauce, The Lover's Salad and the cheese cake. It is located in a 150-year-old building and hosts literary events in English and Hebrew, including readings by famous Israeli writers. Tmol Shilshom also hosts other events such as musical evenings and lectures, as well as private banquets.

Tmol Shilshom is named after Nobel laureate S.Y. Agnon's novel (translated as "Those Were the Days").
